Reed Diffusers

What is a Reed diffuser?

A reed diffuser is actually an aromatherapy tool that has actually been around for centuries. It is a small glass container which is filled with wooden sticks. The sticks are made from Rattan reed. The rattan reed is the best option for a Reed diffuser because it has many tiny channels that run vertically through it, meaning that the nice smelling oils that are used to scent the reed diffuser have maximal absorption and distribution.

Reed diffusers work, drawing the scented oil up through their stem where the scent is evaporated into the air, leaving the area in question well fragranced and inviting.

Reed diffusers are safer than the majority of other scented oil based products because they have flame free, the reeds do all of the work naturally, meaning you don’t have to worry about having a reed diffuser in your home with young children. Although of course given the oil base of the product it is still advisable to keep out of the reach of young children.

Reed diffusers are popular at the moment not only for their effective fragrance properties, but also because of the simply design and aesthetic appeal. A small glass jar with a few short woody reeds sitting in it also makes a nice centrepiece, or focal point in an area of the house that was lacking previously. They are widely available and relatively cheap especially when compared with other oil-based fragrances.

They are used not only in personal homes, but also in officers, schools, doctors offices, their safe non polluting properties make then the ultimate choice when it comes to creating a sweet smelling environment.

Because of their simple design, there are many different types of reed diffusers, not only with different smelling oils, but with varying numbers of reeds and shaped glasses, although the majority are approximately half the size of the reeds that occupies and creates the reed diffuser
